The PSLE oral examination is of two parts:
- Reading aloud
- Stimulus-based conversation
In the Reading Aloud section, the students are given a passage to read, and the examiner listens to how well they read it. In the Stimulus-based Conversation, students are presented with a visual. The examiner asks questions based on the visual.
Here are some of the important points to be noted before attending the Oral Examination:
- Verbal exams for English Language (EL) or Foundation Elective Language and Native Language/ Foundation MTL are conducted over two consecutive days.
- Your institution sends notifications regarding your set deadline hour and exam details two days before the oral examination.
- You cannot carry books and other reading materials to the exam hall or silent preparation area.

Calendar for Listening Comprehension Exam 2022
As per the information from SEAB, the Listening Comprehension exam will be conducted on Friday, the 16th of September, 2022. The Listening Comprehension paper carries 20 marks. Here are the details:

Important Do's and Dont's for PSLE Written Exam
Do's
- Use a 2AB pencil to darken your response on the Optical Response Sheet.
- Darken the entire oval. Failure to do so may result in ambiguous responses.
- Use a gentle eraser to alter your answers.
- Completely erase the darkened oval before shading another oval to alter your answer.
- Note the details included in the timeframe for each exam, such as time allotted for studying the question, writing, and shading your response.
Dont's
- Avoid writing answers in your problem booklet, as they will not be evaluated.
- Avoid using correction fluid or tape to alter your response because it may influence the readability.
