Secondary / IP Yr 1-4 Levels

*Note: Themes vary across Secondary 1 to 4. As there is no set “content” for English, in my lessons I expose my students to as many themes as possible, particularly social, cultural, political, scientific, youth, media etc issues that are suitable for their age-groups. Nowadays, many of our students do not read widely enough to have built up this essential general background knowledge. As a result, the majority of them do not do as well for the English paper as they could have. By discussing various themes with my students, they gain the content knowledge necessary for them to tackle English essay questions, and also for their Humanities subjects, especially Social Studies.
